Batches map to fields.
Our batch model tracks a living cohort of plants from propagation to dispatch - treatments, movements and audit retained on the batch itself. A field is the same shape at different scale: a cohort of crop sown in a window, treated on a schedule, harvested in a window.
Seasonal planning, input tracking, yield-per-batch reporting, and the audit log that DEFRA or your assurance scheme needs - all those pieces already exist. They would need remapping, not rebuilding.
Field ops are not nursery ops.
We would need to learn the commodity-pricing side - subsidy regimes, futures exposure, contract-farming terms - which are not in our model today. We would also need to treat field-scale telemetry (soil moisture, yield maps, sprayer logs) as first-class signals.
